21 volunteer teachers have been trained to over come the teacher shortages at Government schools in and around Deniyaya.As a result, now almost every subject have been covered. .[Click Here for Photos]

Tuition classes for A/L Students

Conducted seminars for year five students of the six Tamil schools in the district of Matara and one student from Anningkanda Tamil School

There had been 28 volunteer teachers working in 07 schools from 2006 to January 2007.They were supported with the funds from Kolping Centre and Society of Jesus.
Since February 2007 Codesep began to assist them with a monthly allowance. The government accepted 12 of them to become part of the regular teacher’s corps.
- Conduct tuition classes in Mathematics and Science for O/L students
- Training of teachers in charge of year 5 scholarship classes
- Providing allowance for extra Tuition classes for students in grade 9 – 10
- Provide assistance to poor and needy children
- To support with the preparation of the scholarship examination and the O/L examination through seminars
