| (A) Introduction
Inspired by the strong belief that – “Dignity of man is the Glory of God ” the Diocese of Galle committed itself to restore the lost dignity of the plantation community in the Southern Province and established the “Community Development Service for Plantations” (CoDeSeP) as a vehicle to help achieve that goal.
(B) Mission of Codesep is
To restore the lost dignity and human values of every one in the estate community who lead an underprivileged and miserable life.
- To facilitate to create peace and harmony with their neighbors-majority Sinhalese.
(C) Remarks
CoDeSeP has mainly focused on health, education, water ,sanitation and livelihood using animation of groups.
With financial assistance of Caritas Belgium and Caritas Aachen, CoDeSeP started a one year project in February 2007.
